Denchu House and Kintsugi

金継ぎ：Memory of a Moment is an art exhibition wrapped up by the frame and feeling of the former residence of Hirakushi Denchu. Nestled beside the vast Yanaka Cemetery, it is where the sculptor Hirakushi Denchu lived with his family until 1970, when it was donated to his hometown, Ibara City. The space - with its cracks from the movement of the earth, chipped ceramics from a thousand cups of tea, and sliding shoji doors becomes something close to a time-machine, through the years of memories it holds.
